Let's talk equipment

Updated: Feb 14

So much of our time and effort and money, is spent chasing down the perfect setup. And honestly, most are chasing a dream of better scores with less practice. And that's just human nature. Especially with kids, we tend to want them to have the best we can get them, at least the parents I know. We try to give them every edge.

But the fact is this, 99% of the available equipment out there can out shoot 90% of the archers. Case in point young Bodie. Pictured hear shooting lights out with someone else's decked out Genesis!

Now Bodie is exceptional. He has had access to one of the best mental coaches in the game as well as the ability to practice as much as he wants. And clearly he puts the time in.

Perhaps a better question to ask, is not what bow does Bodie shoot? But what is Mr. Turners practice routine?

Young growing archers should never, in my humble opinion, be put into a mod specific bow for draw length.

No matter how much "better" the brand of bow is perceived to be.

They will have far more success shooting something you can incrementally adjust to fit them. Not having them constantly changing their form to fit the bow until new mods can be ordered.

I have coached a young lady to a national championship while shooting a bear legit!

The very best bow you can have... Bar none.. Is the one that fits

Period.

The picture, was taken from a Facebook post. Bodie was challenged to shoot a round with someone's Genesis they have set up with stabs and a sight.

And he crushed it.

Time not money gets it done.

Stop chasing points with money.

That being said... If a different bow feels better, and fits better? By all means... Do it

But first exhaust all options getting your current set up to fit you.

Have a great day all!
