2 years ago I was shooting pretty good. Confident and ready to go finish at least..... not last!!
Seriously. I knew I wasn't gonna win. This was my first go around on making a serious competitive run. But alas, the shoulder thing happened. Ya'll know that story.
Truth be told. I have been shooting better... but I was less confident
Doubt now comes from if my body will hold up for the 20 rounds.
Sometimes, when a shot goes off. I feel a twinge of, well, almost pain.. and I wonder if it's gonna go south on me.
The good thing! After a few 600 rounds, that twinge has yet to turn into more than an annoyance. So now I am working on ignoring it! When it gets in my head. It's hard to shake.
So I did NOT have a fantastic score. 586. But I DID make it!
And it was fun. Had some friendly bale mates and a good time was had by all.
I was there for 3 reasons. 1st to shoot, second was to be archery Dad and 3rd was to coach.
Watching Kaitlyn shoot has become a joy. Her performance has improved so much. But her conduct at these things makes me proud. She is truly a wonderful and respected member of the archery community. She managed a 614 both days and shot well in her shootoff. Then she ran around taking pictures and checking on her friends and teammates.
Lord it was a long couple days!
Next year we stay there! It was dumb this year, that we decided to commute.
Especially with 8am shoot offs.
We had a lot of fun. Saw some incredible shooting. And hung with some dear friends.
Now, in a few weeks.... to Virginia for Nationals.
And I have some work to do if I want to make my goal of getting on the podium.
I'll switch my rig back over for the 23s and get her dialed in. I got my new 60x Custom strings to install and bow is that PSE gonna be even prettier!
Ya'll have a great day!
